Faster installs with WinGet

Windows Package Manager can discover, install, upgrade, remove, and configure applications from the command line. DR FRED can use it for clean setups, but the package ID should always be verified before installation.

  • Search first so you know the exact package ID.
  • Use official package IDs and avoid lookalikes.
  • Run upgrades after installation.
  • Manual vendor downloads are still best for unusual licensing or business apps.
